Our Team

We bring different perspectives to the table, but we’re united by a love for purposeful work, thoughtful design, and real connection.

Academic Scholarship Director

Courtney Bauman (she/her) is thrilled to join BPSF as the Academic Scholarship Director. With a career rooted in International Education, Courtney is deeply committed to expanding access to both local and global learning opportunities—especially for LGBTQIA+ students.

New to Hays County, Courtney is eager to build connections and contribute to the queer community through her work with BPSF. She lives in Wimberley with her partner and their two pups. When she’s not working, you’ll find her traveling, spending time outdoors, or planning her next great escape from the Texas summer heat.

Community Engagement Director

Erin Dewberry (she/her) is freaking out over being the Community Engagement Director. She is a proud ally by supporting her queer family members and being part of several chosen families.

Erin graduated from Texas State University with a Communication Studies degree in 2016. She moved away, but then came back to San Marcos as quickly as she could in 2021. She works as a vehicle damage inspector for a car insurance company.

There is a good chance you will find Erin at a local drag show. She has a huge heart for her fellow theater kids. She thrives on building and maintaining safe spaces for the LBGTQIA+ community to be their authentic self.

Internal Communications Director

Aricelda Flores Calderon (she/her) is honored to be joining BPSF as Executive Director. She has worked in higher education for over six years and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Texas State University. She is passionate about building lasting connections and creating a sense of belonging with those she has the pleasure of meeting and hopes to add to the warmth BPSF already provides to Hays County. Aricelda is excited and eager to contribute her experience and skills in support of BPSF and the queer community.

In her free time, you can find Aricelda out and about. She enjoys meeting up over a good meal, listening to live music, and spending time in great company. She currently resides in New Braunfels with her partner and their two cats but can often be found traveling along I-35 visiting family and friends.

Executive Director

Briana Hacksisombath (she/her) is the External Marketing Director at BPSF, with experience in digital strategy and web development. Briana started with BPSF as a Social Media and Marketing Intern, working on website updates and design.

Graduating  Texas State University in 2024, Briana loves using social media and data to boost the organization’s online presence. Briana’s goal is to help BPSF reach more people and make sure its digital tools are effective for connecting and sharing the mission.

Kennedy Stonehawk (name/they) is a queer seventh generation Texan, joining the board as the Operations Director. They left their home state at the turn of the century due to a political climate that actively discriminated against LGBTQIA+ individuals. They returned home six years ago and settled in San Marcos. Kennedy's commitment to the BPSF mission is driven by a desire to make Texas a welcoming home for all.
An education professional by day, Kennedy has 20+ years in preK-12 and is currently an administrator for a national public charter school.

Operations Director

Shanequa Terrell (she/her) is excited to be joining the BPSF as the Financial Director. She currently works as an Assistant Director at Texas State University where she earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting. As a lifelong ally, she hopes that her work with the BPSF will initiate more meaningful conversations
centered around kindness and awareness.

Outside of work, she has a passion for creative projects that provide both relaxation and a sense of accomplishment. When not immersed in a project, she loves spending quality time with loved ones, reading, and exploring new places.

Financial Director

Lesley Islas (she/her) is the Internal Communications Director at BPSF. She is a native Texan from the BBQ capital of Texas and a self-proclaimed BBQ snob. She also holds strong opinions on quality coffee and tea. Lesley has worked in Early Childhood Education for 25 years as a teacher, top management and currently as an administrative assistant.

Lesley is passionate about authenticity and acceptance. She believes supporting and celebrating people of all ages and abilities exactly as they are and where they are is the key to individuals becoming the best versions of themselves.

In her free time, Lesley enjoys staring in her own car concerts, writing, listening to audiobooks, and watching movies on the couch with her housemate and their cats.
