Madi Tabersmith

Director of Student Programming

Madi Tabersmith is a Texas State alum, staff member, and a previous BPSF scholarship recipient. Her work in advocacy and non-profits began in 2015 when she became a certified volunteer advocate for the Hays-Caldwell Women's Center. Additionally, Madi serves as the Director of Administration for Violet Crown Percussion, a non-profit youth performing arts organization.  Madi loves working with LGBTQIA+ Texas State students and is constantly renewed and inspired by what our tenacious students are able to accomplish. Madi lives in San Marcos with her wife, Kristi and their three rescue pitbulls Lemondrop, Winston, and Aria. In her "free time" Madi enjoys working out and watching Saturday Night Live.

Maria Wasley-Valdez

Director of Operations
Maria has been with BPSF since 2014. She is passionate about the LGBTQIA+ community and has been active in the central Texas area since 2007. She is a self-proclaimed "data nerd" and earned her both her B.A. and M.A. in sociology. When not crunching numbers, you can find Maria at the river, gaming, gardening, or watching really bad sci-fi and horror films.  Maria and her wife live in San Marcos with their dog and two cats.
